Host a blackhawk
Interested in becoming a Host Family?
Being a billet family is both a wonderful and rewarding experience. The journey is a great way to get involved in the community, as well as develop some very special bonds with our Blackhawk players and their families. For many of the players, this will be their first time away from home and will be in need of a stable living environment for their move to Boston, as many will be international players. Part of our commitment to our players and their parents is to provide them with a good home.
In billet homes, the players are encouraged to become involved with the family that has so generously welcomed them. As a member of the household, the players are expected to share in the daily chores as well as maintain their own rooms and do their own laundry. On occasion, the players may have to look after their own meals.
The players will have a very structured schedule for the entire time they are placed in your home. The team will practice 3 days a week, and will have weekend games as well as tournaments. Players also have a workout program to follow throughout the season. Some players may still be in school and others are encouraged to find part-time employment. To help with the expense of housing a player, Billets are provided an allowance per player per month.
Blackhawk Billets are carefully chosen by the team as we search for a safe, clean and comfortable home for our hockey players.
The season starts in Mid August 2010 and will run throughout March 2011.
